Kickin' It with Portland's Ryan Jeffery: Films, Videos, and Sounds

I've become a big fan of a lot of the music & art emanating from Portland, including

Ryan Jeffery, a filmmaker who makes achingly beautiful works on 16mm. He collaborates

with his friend, musician Ethan Rose. I first encounteredthe work of this dynamic duo

while in Buffalo, when their band Small Sails came through town and played a mind-blowing

show at Squeaky Wheel.
