I've been mining global cinema history for films with characters

named "Julie" and coming up with an astonishing array of

female roles - wanton women, slutty teens, rebellious

housewives, and more. Fictitious filmic Julies abound,

and I've got about 25 of them stored on my hard drive.

My initial idea for this project had been to select bits of

dialogue where other characters in these Julie filmes actually

talk to the Julie character. I'd planned to perform and document

my own improvised responses to these situations and

conversations, then weave all of this material together into a

new narrative.

While I still intend to create the video I've described above,

I became a bit overwhelmed with my findings and instead I've

been testing out a variety of ideas for how to use this footage.
