Study #1 I cut these three films so that all that remained were moments when a character said the name, "Julie." Most of the cuts are quick, just ''Julie. Julie. Julie." throughout the entire piece. My introductory web page has an example of the Doris Day film cut this way. It is interesting to note that you can still get the gist of the narrative from the gestures, staging, props, and intonation of characters as they say "Julie."
