New York State Summer School for the Arts
Project 4: Final Project Objectives: To produce a significant body of work using computer-based media tools and intermedia strategies. Skills Learned: Working independently, developing a unique vision, seeing a large project through to completion, advanced computer art skills
Final Project Requirements: Students are required to work independently to produce one major artwork that can take any of the forms that have been explored previously in the Computer Art course.
These media include: *Drawing, photography, or mixed media (Illustrator, Photoshop) *Animation (Flash) *Sound (Audacity) *3D Modelling (SketchUp, Blender, others) *Interactive Narratives and Interactive Art (Flash, ActionScript)
Students may choose to combine media, for example, producing a Flash animation that also has an accompanying series of 2D images. Students may choose to create several short projects or one large project.
Students will be requird to show their work to their peers and discuss their progress three times. These presentations will be scheduled.
Proposal: Students are required to submit a one page written description of their projects. These are due in class on Thursday, July 12. This description should include the following information: 1. Your name 2. Project title 3. Media you intend to use, software necessary 4. Content - what is the project about? what questions are you exploring? 5. Style of the project 6. Methods for exibition and distribution - gallery, screening, anything else
