Lab 8: How to Make Your Flash Movie into a Quicktime for use on a DVD 1. First you need to have animation that does not have a start button. If you have a start button on your animation, remove it and extend the length of your first frame or scene. Duplicate the frame so that your introductory scene extends as long as you want (at least two seconds). 2. Know this: movie clips will not play when your Flash Movie is converted to a Quicktime. It is sad but true. Only symbols will translate over to the .mov file we desire. 3. Go to the File menu and choose Export , then Export Movie. 4.Give your movie a title, then choose QuickTime Video as the format. 5. Make sure "Maintain aspect ratio" is checked. 6. To produce DVD quality video, the movie's dimensions must be within 720 x 480. Set the Height at 480. If the Width is at or below 720, leave your movie as it is. If the Width is above 720, lower the size of your Height so that the Width is at 720 or below. 7. Set the Format to "24 bit color." 8. Make sure "Smooth" is checked. 9. Set the Compressor to "Animation." 10. The quality can stay set at the middle of the slider. 11. Set the Sound format to "44kHz 16 Bit Stereo." 12. Click OK and your movie should export into a nice Quicktime file for use in video editing programs, dvd authoring programs, and more!
